I’ve had such an overwhelmingly nice response to cutting more than 10 inches off my hair last summer; so I wanted to introduce you to the woman who took me there and my go-to salon where I get it did.

The salon is Brambila Salon on Ocean Ave. in Santa Monica and my soul sister there who handles my cut and color is Jamie Leonard aka Jam. Jam is also a make-up artist and recently had her own show at NYFW with Brian Lichtenberg! It’s so rad when you like someone’s work and also really dig them as a person. Jam and I clicked right away and whenever I go in for a cut it’s always girl talk central.

When I first cut my hair I went for the shoulder length bob so as not to alarm myself. I had been a hard core long hair girl for about eight years. Then a few months later I put on my big girl pants and went for a chin length bob cascading in front (if you have a round face this is a good choice) This time I wanted to take it short again but do something different so Jam added some ombre highlights all around my face and I absolutely love it.

I’m really becoming a short hair convert; love having a style that’s easy to maintain. Even though Jam is always telling me to come in every six weeks that’s just not my styz and the great thing about her cuts is how they grow out so well. My fall bob grew out into a great shoulder length style which I happily rocked most of the winter. It’s really important to get a good cut and color because it will save you time and money in the long run.

Hope you like our photos of the whole process and of course let me know if you have any questions!

xx
