I spent the holiday weekend doing the adult summer camp thing. It was amazing but let’s just say it more resembles a high school “senior week” than the sort of adult vacations I’m accustomed to. Wednesday felt like the perfect time to take Ritual Wellness up on their offer of a one day juice cleanse to reset my system before NYFW. I was excited but also skeptical, I mean what can really get reset in twenty four hours?

10am | Slept in today. I was wiped after a busy day of auditioning and getting back into the groove after the holiday weekend. I also had an improv show last night so I didn’t get home until after midnight. Enjoying my first green juice in bed. Let’s get this party started!

12pm | Going over new head shots on the patio while I have “lunch”. This juice is pink and sweet and coco-nutty. Perfect! Daaaaaamn it’s hot out here.
Apparently Summer just started in L.A.

2pm | I’m in pain. Today is the first real day of my period and I’m wondering if pain relievers will compromise the cleansing process but I’m hurting too much to even drink my juice. I broke down and took some Midol and a cool shower. Note to self: juice cleansing is probably best done when you’re not surfing the crimson tide.

3:15pm | Feeling positive, energetic and on top of it after the Midol kicked in and now happily drinking my third juice of the day! Also it looks like the pimple on my left cheek is finally shrinking. Yay juicing!

5pm | That’s a spicy meat-a-ball! The fourth juice of the day is a cayenne pepper, raw agave, alkaline water sort of thing. It makes my lips tingle, which is exciting. I’m starting to feel high but I’m also shopping at Clare Vivier. You do the math.

7pm | Let’s call a spade a spade. My days are weird. Now here we are at improv practice. I forced the boys to take this photo with me. Don’t they just look so handsome!

9pm | Possibly the hardest part of the juice cleanse. Although the sixth juice of the day is the most delicious (tastes like horchata) Mark’s mac and cheese dinner smells soooooo good.
I’ve come this far – there’s no way I’m going out on box mac and cheese.

In bed by 11pm, my skin looks great, I don’t feel tired and I fall asleep peacefully. This was awesome! One of the best parts was not having to think about food all day.

Maybe juicing is the future of feeding ourselves…
Thank you Ritual Wellness for an awesome adventure.
xx,
A
